Our newsletter went out and we have a few corrections:
First Christian Church
We would like to apologize to First Christian Church for posting a picture of
the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction building and labeling it
First Christian Church! This Google “glitch” was a mistake and we did not
intend for this to happen. We are so grateful for First Christian Church
and couldn’t be more excited to be working together with them to support
the poor and marginalized in our community.
Interfaith Works envisions an ultimate goal of providing one centralized
and integrated site to serve a broad range of needs of single adults who are homeless. This is the vision that we have been calling “The People’s House”. We recognize that this name has not, for various reasons, been met with universal support. We are sensitive to this and wish to clarify that our shelter program at First Christian Church is called the "Interfaith Works Emergency Overnight Shelter" and not "The People's House". We have an existing mailing list and website and will be quickly transitioning all the graphics to reflect the correct name. Anyone who received our recent message and was confused about the name, we apologize and hope this makes things clear.
Thank you so much for your continued support and thank you for your patience in this time of transition. Please contact Shelter Program Director Meg Martin with any questions.
